But despite all this, in 2008, Rebecca Hall was in Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona. In 2018, Rebecca Hall will be seen in Woody Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York. But before this movie comes out, Hollywood really fucked up Hall’s chance to be in a third Woody Allen movie, because Hollywood has to pretend they hate Woody Allen now.

She totally would have come to this decision on her own with no external pressure, I bet. Totally. Actors apologizing for working with Woody Allen is being called “a movement” now. I have to say, “I apologize for working with a director who I knew was a piece of shit before I worked with him and I’m also donating my salary so I’m not in a think piece and look like I care after the fact” is my new favorite thing. Shout out to performative allyship.
