You’re a man of the world. Sophisticated. Smart. Stylish. Your luggage should reflect those qualities, especially since it goes everywhere you do. These six suitcases (okay, one’s a duffel bag, but who’s counting?) will elevate your travel game to first-class status.

If you’ve always thought of luggage as a purely practical appendage, Gabbiano is going to change your mind. This New York-based luggage manufacturer makes suitcases that look like modern sculptures, then poses them in creative places like Los Angeles’ arts district for photo shoots. While all of the company’s designs are aesthetically pleasing, the Abstract Collection (above) looks especially gallery-worthy with its geometric stylings and four metallic hues. These suitcases aren’t only eye candy, however; made completely from polycarbonate, they’re tough, too. Eight wheels make transporting this already lightweight suitcase that much easier. Prices start at $180.

These days, everything you own is “smart.” Your suitcase can be, too. Away makes a $225 carry-on with a removable battery and USB charging ports to keep you connected no matter how long your layover is. A laundry bag ensures your clothes stay organized, a TSA-approved combination lock protects your valuables, and 360-degree wheels make this no-nonsense hard shell maneuverable. The company’s latest line is the Morocco Collection (above) with exotic colors inspired by that country’s tapestries (medina red), bathhouse tiles (hammam blue), and tree leaves (argania green). If you’re a fan of monograms, Away also has a carry-on line that lets you pick three letters to be permanently painted on your suitcase by artist Jen Mussari. Our advice? Skip your initials and go for an acronym instead. (FTW!)
IT Luggage

We know, we know: you’re a badass. As such, you don’t want to bothered while hoofin’ it through the airport. IT Luggage‘s terrifyingly beautiful skull suitcases will keep wholesome travelers away. (Anyone who dares to approach you with these in hand likely has a tattoo, a motorcycle, or a criminal record.) Silent spinner wheels allow you to move undetected through the concourse and a 10-year warranty protects your purchase for long after these suitcases go out of style.
J.W. Hulme

Is there anything more sumptuous than leather? J.W. Hulme, a company with over 111 years of craftsmanship experience, is an expert in all things cowhide. Be it in the form of duffle bags, carry-ons, or weekenders, your luggage needs are covered. The Rolling Pullman (above) is made of hand-buffed American Heritage leather and boasts brass details, mesh compartments, multiple pockets, and a wraparound zipper that allows you to open it flat. J.W. Hulme will even monogram up to four letters on the front, free of charge. (Considering that you’re shelling out $1,875 for this beaut, it’s the least they can do.) All of the company’s products come with a lifetime guarantee, making this a suitcase that will go the distance.
Mi Etico

This isn’t a suitcase, per se, but it’s just too cool (and Earth-conscious) to pass up. Mi Etico, an Italian reuse project, makes bags from military technical fabrics. While its most prevalent products are funky backpacks designed by Moreno Ferrari, the company has a new item in the works called the Strollo (above). This over-the-shoulder camouflage pack is huge, waterproof, Oeko-Tex certified, and ethically produced. We’d tell you more, but we don’t speak Italian.

May we call this “the baller suitcase”? Oh, let’s. If you can drop $12,100 on the Orion, an aluminum and natural cowhide contraption, you’re obviously rolling in it. Just make sure you’re the first one at baggage claim because this baby is begging to be stolen. Other than being indestructible, it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles, but you can…dance with it? Apparently. If this YouTube video is to be believed, it’s got moves.
