As if Pokémon GO taking over the world wasn’t enough to make you question what year it is, Nintendo has announced today that they will be bringing back the original NES console, releasing images of the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System, a scaled down version of the classic gaming system. Shut up and take my money Nintendo.
Looking just like an NES, only it’ll fit comfortably in the palm of your hand, it will come with 30 games already built in. With the titles set to include everything from big name games like Mario Bros, to more niche fare like Gradius, they are ticking all the boxes with this tiny nostalgia machine, and we here at Crave HQ can’t wait to get out hands on one. Although one can’t help but notice the lack of Duck Hunt.
Connecting to the TV via HDMI cable, it also comes with a controller designed to work just like the original rectangular NES gamepad, except with the added feature that it can connect to a Wii remote in case you want to use it to play Virtual Console games on a Wii or Wii U.
On top of all this, perhaps most importantly for those us who are likely to pour hours into all these games, the new mini-console also features multiple suspend points, meaning you will avoid the tedium of having to fumble around with passwords when you start playing a game again.
The Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System arrives on November 10 in Australia and New Zealand, just in time for Christmas. Set to cost around $99.95, that is a small price to pay to relive the joy of early ’90s gaming.
Anyway while you sit and stew waiting for the release here’s the complete list of games that will come included with the system. Enjoy.
