Pirates Pitcher Takes 105 MPH Line-Drive To Head, Stays In Game

Jameson Taillon is one of the brightest prospects in baseball. However, things went dark quickly Tuesday night for the rookie.

During the second inning against the Brewers, the Pirates pitcher was rocked by a line drive straight to the skull. The head shot was clocked by a ball traveling at 105 MPH.

The even more amazing part was that although he stayed down on the ground for about two minutes after the hit, the rookie stayed in the game afterward!

Taillon stayed in the game for four more innings, finishing a six-inning effort, only giving up one run.

Considering my last name translates as helmet-head or hard-headed, I think Taillon is my long-lost brother.

Bad joking aside, it’s a miracle this kid is okay. We’ve seen this sort of thing way too often in recent years. Good to see the outcome end on a positive note this time.
