Spice Up Your October With These Halloween Cocktails

If you’re a kid, Halloween means stuffing yourself full of candy. If you’re an adult, it means stuffing kids full of candy until they run themselves to sleep, then unwinding with a nice cocktail.

Just like the kids get to enjoy a variety of different treats this October, you should also try out some unique drinks that you wouldn’t usually mix up. Here are a great batch of new recipes that has something for everyone, from rum drinkers to tequila buffs to bourbon men to vodka lovers. Hornitos® THE RED WEDDING

1 1⁄2 parts Hornitos® Plata Tequila

1⁄2 part Honey Syrup

1⁄2 part Ginger

4 parts Pinot Noir or Merlot

Cinnamon and Grated Nutmeg for garnish

Method: Add all ingredients to a mixing glass over ice. Stir and garnish with grated nutmeg and cinnamon.

Basil Hayden’s Spooky Pumpkin Sour

2 parts Basil Hayden’s® Bourbon

1/2 part Fresh Orange Juice

1/2 part Lemon Juice

1/2 part Maple Syrup

1 heaping bar spoon Canned Pumpkin Puree

3 dashes Angostura® Bitters

1 part Allspice Dram

3-4 pieces Candy Corn

Method: Combine all ingredients into a mixing tin, add ice & shake vigorously. Strain into rocks glass over ice. Garnish with skewered candy corn.

Crave Devilish Manhattan

1 ½ parts JDK & Sons™ Crave Chocolate Chili Liqueur

1 part Red Stag

Method: Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a martini glass

Cruzan Haunted Cinn

1 1/2 parts Cruzan® Velvet Cinn

1 part Cruzan® Aged Dark Rum

1/2 parts DeKuyper® Blood Orange Liqueur

Float DeKuyper® Hot Damn! Liqueur

Flamed Orange Zest

Method: Combine Cruzan Velvet Cinn, Cruzan Aged Dark Rum & Blood Orange Liqueur in a tumbler over ice & stir for 15 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Float a small amount of DeKuyper® Hot Damn! Liqueur on top & finish with a flamed orange zest.

Kilbeggan Masquerade Mixer

2 parts Kilbeggan® Irish Whiskey

½ part DeKuyper® Mixologist Series Ginger Liqueur

1 part Fresh Apple Juice

1 part Fresh Lemon Sour

Red & Orange Sugar Mix

Method: Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a sugar rimmed cocktail glass.

Sauza Candy Corn Margarita

3 parts Sauza Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila

4 parts Orange or Clementine Soda

4 parts Light Beer

1 1/2 parts Orange Liquor

1/2 can Frozen Limeade

Method: In a pitcher combine all ingredients. Chill and serve on a plate filled with candy corn in glasses rimmed with orange sugar. (Serves 4)

EFFEN Vodka Spiced Pumpkin

1½ parts EFFEN® Vodka

2 parts Pumpkin Mix (see recipe below)

¾ parts Pasteurized Egg White

Method: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker over ice and shake thoroughly. Strain and pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish with floating cream with grated vanilla and nutmeg.

Pumpkin Mix

8 parts Canned Pumpkin

8 parts Freshly Pressed Apple Juice

4 tablespoons of Pumpkin Spice

8 parts Spiced Syrup (recipe below)

Method: Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl and mix together.

Spiced Syrup

8 parts Water

8 parts White Sugar

1 tsp Cinnamon

1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

4 Whole Cloves

1 Star Anise

1/8 tsp Ground Allspice or 5 Whole Allspice Pods

Method: Combine all ingredients, except sugar, in stove-top pan and bring to a boil. Turn off heat, add sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Let cool. Strain all particles and refrigerate. Spiced Syrup will last up to two weeks.
