“Since I was a child, I’ve always loved a good story. Stories help us become the people we dreamed of being. Lies that told a deeper truth. I always thought I could play some small part in that grand tradition. And for my pains, I got this: my new narrative.” – Dr. Robert Ford, as portrayed by Anthony Hopkins.
As last night’s penultimate episode of Westworld demonstrated, the first season is ratcheting towards a conclusion that may very well thrust the series into a new narrative for season 2 and beyond. Whether anyone is getting out of the park intact remains to be seen. However, HBO has dropped a tantilizing glimpse of the finale in a new preview trailer that brings Dolores face-to-face with the enigmatic Man in Black. And for the first time, is that genuine fear that we see in Ed Harris’ face? Because it certainly looks like Dolores is dragging his character into the church, and that’s probably not the way that he intended to enter the maze!

You may also notice that the Man in Black will also lead Dolores to her grave, while the body of a major character will not go undiscovered for long. There’s even a tease for Maeve’s grand escape from Westworld itself, and she’s not the only host out of the park…
The first season finale of Westworld will debut on Sunday, December 4 on HBO. The second season will follow in either late 2017, or early 2018.
