Could there be anything more Christmas than Hellboy beating up an evil Santa Clause? Of course not! It doesn’t even have to be Christmas to enjoy that!
This week, Dark Horse Comics is releasing the Hellboy Winter special, which features 3 brand new tales by Mike Mignola, Chris Roberson, and Scott Allie, with art by Sebastian Fiumara, Christopher Mitten, and Paul Grist.
For CraveOnline’s exclusive preview from the Winter Special, Roberson and Grist have teamed up for the previously mentioned Hellboy vs. Evil Santa battle. But there’s some intrigue behind the battle as well, when the alien known as the Visitor makes his presence known. And Hellboy’s father figure, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm appears to recognize the Visitor from their previous meeting.

“In ‘God Rest Ye Merry,’ we’re jumping ahead a bit in the Cold War timeline that we’ve been exploring in the pages of Hellboy & The B.P.R.D.,” shared Roberson in an exclusive statement. “We were excited to have the opportunity to get an early look at one of the new agents who will be a key member of the team throughout the 1960s (though regular readers might remember first seeing him as a child in a recent story set in the 1950s). But we also reveal that a mysterious figure has been lurking around in the background all of Hellboy’s life, and we’ll be exploring just who he is and what he’s been up to in the pages of The Visitor: How and Why He Stayed. And since Paul Grist will be drawing that series, it made perfect sense to bring him onboard to work with us on this short story.
The Hellboy Winter Special will be released this Wednesday, January 25.
