2017 Chicago Auto Show: 2018 Dodge Durango SRT

Anyone who drives a member of the SRT family made up of Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler models knows what tremendous and entirely impractical fun the vehicles are. You don’t really need a turbocharged, track-worthy, performance SUV or truck, but they’re still great to drive.

Dodge added a member to its SRT crew with the introduction of the Durango at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show. When it arrives in late 2017, the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT will be the most powerful, three-row SUV on the market.

The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT packs a 475-horsepower, 392-cubic-inch HEMI V-8 engine. Since we’re talking HEMIs and SRTs, Dodge brought in the National Hot Rod Association to certify the Durango’s quarter-mile time of 12.9 seconds and a o0-60 miles mph time of 4.4 seconds. Beyond speed, the Durango SRT does a utility vehicle’s job with a towing capability of 8,600 pounds.

To keep up with the new performance capabilities, the Durango SRT receives new exterior performance features such as a wide body exterior design and functional SRT hood with center air inlet duct flanked by heat extractors. The new front fascia houses new cold-air ducts and LED fog lamps.

Anyone who buys into a new Durango SRT receive a one day session at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Arizona.
