The ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ anti-Trump stream, set up by actor Shia LaBeouf alongside artists Rönkkö and Turner, was moved to Liverpool in the UK after its location was compromised on several occasions in the US. However, the stream has yet again been brought to a standstill after trolls on 4chan found its location, causing the installation to be prematurely cancelled as a result of “dangerous, illegal trespassing”.
The ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ 24-hour live stream was initially set up in the US by LaBeouf, Rönkkö and Turner, with it intended to be used by those looking to express solidarity in the wake of increased division in the country following the presidential election. However, the installation was besieged by controversy as white supremacists made several appearances, with LaBeouf also being arrested following a physical confrontation during the stream. The installation was then moved from New York to Albuquerque, though shots were fired near its new home leading to it being moved to a “secret” location.

Unfortunately for LaBeouf, Rönkkö and Turner, this location was discovered by 4chan users, who orchestrated a successful plot to “capture” the ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ flag. The trio then moved the flag to Liverpool, though once again 4chan users have worked to foil the peaceful protest, leading to it seeking a new home once again.
The flag was raised above Liverpool’s FACT media arts centre, though it didn’t remain there for long before 4chan began working to remove it once again. Users of the site’s “Politically Incorrect” /pol/ board began circulating instructions on how to make their way to the top of the FACT building in order to obtain the flag, explaining how users in the UK could climb across FACT’s nearby buildings in order to reach their goal.
Eventually channers in Liverpool were able to do exactly that, with the live stream being interrupted by three young men who had managed to make their way across to the top of the FACT centre. However, the trio became unstuck after discovering that the flag had been heavily zip toed to the pole, meaning that they could not remove it.

Regardless of their thwarted attempt at removing the flag, them making their way to the top of the FACT centre was enough for the installation to be removed, with police advising the organisation to take it down. FACT confirmed its removal in the following tweet:

It’s uncertain whether or not LaBeouf, Rönkkö and Turner plan to resurrect the installation once again somewhere else in the world, but it appears that wherever they go, 4chan will be following.
