Best Canadian Festivals To Check Out This Summer – Part 1

Summer is like no other in Canada – with only a few short-lived months to enjoy the arts, music, and more, here are the best Canadian festivals to check out this summer (with Part 2 coming soon!)

NXNE – Toronto, ON

Running June 16 to 25, North By Northeast, affectionately known as NXNE, will be featuring a myriad of musicians including Passion Pit, Tyler The Creator and Post Malone. There will also be comedy, food, art installations, and much more.

Luminato Festival – Toronto, ON

Luminato is Toronto’s international multi-arts, multi-platform festival dedicated to performance, visual art, music, theatre, dance, and programming that cuts across traditional art form boundaries. The 2017 festival runs June 14 to 25, launching Luminato’s second decade.

Bass Coast – Merritt, BC

From July 7-10, this music event is an international exhibition of electronic music and art. Despite the event already being sold out, add-ons are still available for ticket holders.

Evolve – Moncton, NB

The Evolve Music and Awareness Festival is an annual three-day summer celebration of music, culture, and social awareness. A small sampling of musicians who will be there include Arrested Development, DJ Shub, Sorrey, and more.

Just For Laughs Festival – Montreal, QC

It’ll be a hilarious event, as always, at this year’s Just For Laughs, where performers like Mike Birbiglia, John Mulaney, and the ever-popular Nasty Show. It runs from July 12-31.

Winnipeg Folk Festival – Winnipeg, MB

On from July 6-9, the Winnipeg Folk Festival will see the Barenaked Ladies, Bruce Cockburn, City and Colour, and Feist performing over the course of four days.
