A couple of years ago, courtesy of our lord and savior, the internet, a trend emerged where people described a movie’s plot in the worst (or best) way possible. Enter #ExplainaFilmPlotBadly on Twitter. These seemingly obvious summaries wrap classics up into a single-sentence bow while often pointing out plot holes and other things that stick out—which, frankly, is the easiest way to hilariously explain a movie in just one sentence. Now that we’re officially in the new year, we’ve decided to apply this intrepid method to some of the best films of 2021.
