The hottest new conspiracy theory has dropped. An X account with over 100K followers claimed it’s been in contact with a “whistleblower” who claims ABC rigged the debate in favor of Harris against Trump. Despite absolutely no evidence being provided, multiple large alt-right accounts have amplified the message. However, ABC isn’t taking this lying down, and the network quickly responded to these accusations.
Alt-right account claims whistleblower affidavit exposes ABC rigged Trump/Harris debate
The X account @DocNetyoutube claims that it will be releasing an affidavit from an ABC whistleblower concerning the debate. The affidavit claims that the Harris campaign was given sample questions that matched those asked in the debate. It goes on to state that Harris was given assurances she would not be fact-checked, while Donald Trump would. Additionally, the account claims several other factors were in play to give Harris a significant advantage during the debate. They go on to promise that they’ll be releasing the affidavit before the weekend is over.
ABC responded to an inquiry from The Daily Beast with the following:
“Absolutely not. Harris was not given any questions before the debate.”
Despite claiming he won the debate, Trump described it as being “three against one.” He went on to say that Harris was “awfully familiar” with the questions on Wednesday’s Fox & Friends. He’s also been flighty about agreeing to a second debate, even when conservative-friendly Fox News offered to host it.
Some Trump supporters have latched onto the conspiracy, claiming it’s further proof of mainstream media bias. They argue that the alleged whistleblower’s affidavit will expose a coordinated effort to undermine Trump’s performance. Meanwhile, fact-checkers and media watchdogs have noted that similar claims in the past have fallen apart under scrutiny. Critics of the theory point out that without concrete evidence, these accusations amount to little more than speculation designed to sow distrust ahead of future debates. ABC has remained firm in its denial.
