Anne Hathaway’s recent Instagram post had the actor melodiously singing Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” but with tweaked lyrics. In the post, she noted there were “crazy long lines at college campuses.” Voters at the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University polling stations had to wait several hours to cast their votes. Hence, Hathaway went on to thank her viewers for showing up to practice their right to vote.

To keep it light, Anne Hathaway gave a fun twist to Sabrina Carpenter’s song, switching out the catchy first line of the chorus for “Please, please, please stay on the line.” The actor went on to highlight the long wait times on college campuses, singing, “Please, please, please, especially at UPenn and Temple, you just wait out your time.” She also acknowledged voters’ grievances, ending her version of “Please Please Please” with, “Voting is magic, but also annoying. You’ve waited out this long, let’s make it not boring … please, please, please, hold the line.”

Hathaway went on to remind her fans that if they are already in a line, they must stay there as polls stay open beyond closing time to allow everyone who has lined up to cast their votes. She encouraged them to practice their voting rights and seek help from organizations providing food, water, and even music. The actor highlighted Pizza to the Polls and Joy To The Polls specifically, asking netizens to let the organizations know where they are to get services.
