The source told the outlet that it was part of Holmes and Cruise’s “divorce deal,” saying the amount is “substantial.”
On December 8, the star took to Instagram to address the rumors. She shared a screenshot of the report, overlaying it with the text, “Completely False.” She followed it up by directly addressing the news outlet, noting, “Daily mail you can stop making stuff up.” Fans supported Holmes for calling out the outlet and applauded the actor for standing up for herself and her family.
Holmes has always been open about wanting to protect her daughter from negative coverage, aiming to keep Suri out of the limelight.
