The Xbox One release date has been confirmed by Microsoft, and it will arrive worldwide on November 22nd.
While rumours from alleged “official sources” had pointed to a November 8th release date in order to get a small head start on the PlayStation 4, Microsoft has revealed that it will actually be arriving later than Sony’s console in the US, though it will release ahead of the PS4 in several other regions including the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Other initial launch markets include Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand and Spain, with other regions getting their hands on the console in 2014.
A statement released by Microsoft regarding the announcement said: “November 22 is a special day in Xbox history – on this day, we first launched Xbox 360 in 2005. Our next chapter begins in 79 days, when Xbox One becomes available.”
