Crystal Dynamics announced during VGX that it will be bringing 2013’s Tomb Raider to PS4 and Xbox One in the form of a Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. While the content contained will remain the same, the visual delivery has been retouched to take advantage of more powerful console hardware.
So what does it look like? See it in action for yourself:
Although Crystal Dynamics says it spent a great deal of time tuning character models and environments to be more impressive, it largely looks the same as the PC version. That’s not necessarily a bad thing since many gamers haven’t thrown down over $1,000 or more to build a gaming rig. But nonetheless, the trailer isn’t a great departure from what was seen from footage before the game came out which, you guessed it, ran on PC hardware.
