Preview: Vandroid #1

What if an 80s schlock-video action movie that never got finished came to life in comic book form? That’s the tone of what you’re going to get with Vandroid, from writers Tommy Lee Edwards and Noah Smith, alongside artist Dan McDaid.

Here’s the schtick:

When Palm Springs Entertainment studios burned to the ground in 1984, the most definitive motion picture of the generation was lost before its time. A forgotten icon of a classic era, Vandroid bursts back onto the scene with a vengeance in a five-issue limited comic book series from Dark Horse Comics. Tommy Lee Edwards, Noah Smith, and Dan McDaid unite to resurrect the lost epic of a washed up van designer-turned cyberneticist, his technological masterpiece, and the corporate baddies who want to tear it all down! Vandroid will launch February 26 2014, and run monthly for 5 months.

If so, that reviewer is one whose work you can trust if you're curious about a particular title. If not, cue loud, angry internet vitriol.
