The official cover art for FIFA 15 has been outed. What cover you see will depend on where the game is purchased from, but North American copies will feature two players: Clint Dempsey and Lionel Messi. In other regions, only Messi will be included.
Clint Dempsey is the third American to be featured on a FIFA cover, and the first in eight years. He was the captain of the United States national team during the World Cup, where he would score against Ghana and Portugal before losing against Belgium. He also plays for the Seattle Sounders FC in Major League Soccer.
What you should quickly notice is that the Xbox One and PS4 covers are quite different, and not in a traditional way. See for yourself:
Microsoft appears to be very proud of its Xbox jerseys, which the Seattle Sounders have worn since 2009.

Messi was also featured on the past two covers due to his high regard. Despite such a huge reputation, his Argentine team would lose against the Germans in the World Cup 0-1. That doesn’t appear to have affected his FIFA 15 partnership, though.
