Yeah, it’s about time for Weezer to hang it up. Sure, they urge listeners to “turn up the radio, turn off those stupid singing shows,” but the “Hash Pipe” hitmakers are showing their formula to be more than a little tired with this lumbering ditty.
Backed by producer and The Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, Weezer’s 10th studio album, Everything Will Be Alright In The End, arrives Sept. 30th. This one isn’t on our Most Anticipated Albums of 2014 list for a reason: we’re ready for Weezer to take a nice, long breather.
“Back to the Shack” was first debuted onstage back in February during the band’s latest Weezer Cruise. “Sorry, guys / I didn’t realize that I needed you so much,” sings frontman Rivers Cuomo. But do we need him? We’ll see at the end of September…
