Star Wars: Episode VII – John Boyega’s Character Revealed?

Although the cast of J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII has long since been revealed (and even added tomultiple times), we still don’t know who any of these actors are playing in the movie (besides the original cast) or what the heck they’re going to be doing on screen. But new rumors from Badass Digest claims to have plot details and as well as the identity of one of Episode VII‘s lead actors.

If true, the following rumor definitely qualifies as a SPOILER, especially since the movie doesn’t come out until a year-and-a-half from now, on December 18, 2015.

You ready?

John Boyega allegedly plays a Stormtrooper who deserts his post and teams up with a character played by Daisy Ridley. What sends them on their journey, you ask? It turns turns out they find none other than Luke Skywalker’s severed hand, still clutching a light saber. They embark on a mission to return the Jedi relic to Luke Skywalker, who hasn’t been seen in 30 years.

There’s more to the story (obviously), and Badass Digest offers a little more context and a few hints towards the film’s villain, but we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. This rumor jibes with the quest-like plot we’ve heard rumored about for some time, but nothing about Star Wars: Episode VII is official yet. Nothing. Except the cast, and maybe the set pictures. The important thing to remember is not to get too excited – or too judgmental – based on rumors, conjecture or even factual reporting without the proper storytelling context.

It still sounds kinda neat though. What do you think?
