Grant Gustin is stepping up to the plate as Barry Allen, the titular character of the CW’s new superhero show The Flash, which is premiering at the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend. We found out what his Flash-mode jam is when we spoke to him at San Diego Comic-Con.

How does this new series differ from the 1990 Flash series? Effects, effects, effects, according to Gustin. He promises that the super-powered madness that happens in The Flash will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen on TV before.
The Flash debuts on the CW on October 7.
