Labor Day is a classic American holiday. The Cutty Sark is a famous British sailing vessel.
There the connection of the two concepts would end if not for the sweet booze pouring out of a Cutty Sark Whiskey bottle. So, the distiller is sailing in with three Labor Day cocktail recipes to honor the complete non-relation of the two above concepts.

Cutty Sark Blood & Sand
Ingredients
- 2 oz Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition
- 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
- 1 oz Cherry Brandy
- 1 1/2 oz Fresh Orange Juice
Preparation: Shake over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Cutty Sark Sour
Ingredients
- 2 oz Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition
- 3/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 3/4 oz Simple Syrup Soda Water
Preparation: Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain in to a Collins glass over fresh ice. Top with soda water and garnish with a lemon wheel.
Cutty Sark Pear Cooler
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition
- 1/4 oz. Lemon Juice
- 1/4 oz. Honey
- 2 oz. Ginger Beer
- 1/8th of a ripe pear
Preparation: In a mixing tin, muddle the pear with honey and lemon. Add the whisky and shake. Double strain over fresh ice into a Collins glass. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a pear slice.
