Organisers of the 2015 Laneway Festival have confirmed the first act for next year’s run across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore in a panel discussion at the BIGSOUND music conference.
Laneway festival founders Danny Rogers and Jerome Borazio revealed their first 2015 booking- “Agnes”, mother of Canadian multi-instrumentalist Mac DeMarco.
The pair told a panel at the Brisbane BIGSOUND event that Laneway was able to confirm the booking of Agnes as part of a unique two for one deal that will see DeMarco also join the festival bill.
Laneway isn’t dropping its full lineup until October 2, but that hasn’t stopped rumours of electronic artists FKA Twigs and Banks, plus rapper Vic Mensa, also joining Laneway for January and February visits to Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne and Fremantle.
Laneway announced a full schedule for its 11th birthday celebration on Tuesday, including opening up stops in Adelaide and Brisbane as 16+ events.
