Automotive Meets Art: Ben Moon and the Rolls

A Rolls-Royce is a symbol of classic luxury – which is why painting on the exterior of A Silver Spur with a Sharpie is crazy! Multi-media artist Ben Moon has done just that. He has covered a Rolls-Royce named “Our Painted Lady” in his signature black and white drawings in the name of charity. This 1985 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur will be auctioned off in December with 100% of the proceeds being donated to The Wounded Warrior Project.

As an avid musician and fine arts major at Tulane University, Ben Moon immersed himself in the diverse artistic culture of New Orleans, participating in numerous art shows and performing regularly around town. Even at this early stage, he became fascinated by the ways in which sonic and visual elements could be combined to create a heightened emotional effect. Inspired by Andy Warhol’s Factory Parties and the Art Happenings of the late 1960′s, Moon employs a combination of projected visuals, interactive social media, as well as live and prerecorded music to create a world where art and life come together in a radical new experience, “the world of Ben Moon”.

The car will continue to make public appearances at events within New York’s five boroughs throughout the fall until the auction in December. Seriously, if you had the chance to own a classic car with a stylish, one of a kind twist to it, wouldn’t you go for it? And its all for a great cause!
