Jane’s Addiction Frontman Perry Farrell Talks Maestro Dobel Tequila

  • 2 oz. Maestro Dobel Tequila
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/2 oz Agave Nectar

Combine ingredients, rim with black sea salt and serve in a rocks glass.

Jane’s Addiction is still going strong, but in 1991 it seemed as if the end was near. Their “farewell tour” that year morphed into the annual music festival Lollapalooza. The initial run of the festival lasted until 1997. In 2005, it was re-launched as a weekend music festival in Chicago. “It’s a great feeling knowing musicians and fans appreciate the festival,” says Farrell.

Farrell still has a major say about what bands perform at Lollapalooza. The most recent festival started on July 31st and lasted until August 2nd and was headlined by Eminem, Outkast, Kings of Leon, Skrillex and many others.

He’s a little secretive about next year’s lineup, but admits that he’s already thinking about it. “We’re speaking with some great bands actually. There are so many of them out there.” It’s too soon for Farrell to say who is confirmed for next year’s festival. “Being able to see bands that carry so much meaning is a reminder of why music festivals are such a success, Lolla being one of them.”
