Boutique camping festival Golden Plains has announced its 2015 lineup featuring Village People, Conor Oberst and Something For Kate.
The ‘kings of disco’ are set to bring anthem hits ‘YMCA’, ‘Macho Man’, ‘In The Navy’ and ‘Go West’ to regional Victoria as part of another stellar Golden Plains lineup hitting the Supernatural Amphitheatre March 7-9.
The late ‘70s pop culture icons will be joined by Bright Eyes founder Conor Oberst and his new album Upside Down Mountain, plus home-grown artists Something For Kate, punk legends Radio Birdman, Courtney Barnett, HITS, The Bennies and minimalist electro/rap duo Milwaukee Banks.
Golden Plains’ cosmic BYO, one-stage long weekend is also bringing a host of international acts, including US DJs Shadow and Cut Chemist (Jurassic 5), a bunch of Swedish acts including folk duo First Aid Kit, rock outfit Graveyard and singer-songwriter Neneh Cherry fresh off an 18-year hiatus, plus West African desert rockers Bombino, Californian jazz and blues artist Nick Waterhouse and 90’s garage punk trio Oblivians.
The Golden Plains ballot is open at the festival’s official website until 9:09pm Tuesday, October 21. Tickets include camping and parking and are priced at $328.80 + a $10 booking fee and $7 for register post.
