UPDATED: Marvel went for the classier option. Instead of getting the early, leaked trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron pulled, they opted to release the high-resolution version nearly one week early. You can’t put a genie back in a bottle, and you can’t un-unleash Ultron into the world.
Watch the official, high quality Age of Ultron trailer above, and if you are so inclined, read the original article about the early, leaked trailer below.
The official trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron was scheduled to be released during next week’s episode of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” but the internet waits for no corporate entity. The full trailer of the eagerly awaited follow-up has arrived online, and although the video quality is low, it is complete, and it is exciting.
Included in the Age of Ultron trailer are our first full look at James Spader’s villain, a brief glimpse at Hulk fighting Iron Man (in his new Hulkbuster armor), images of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch using their powers and at least one completely incongruous shot of ballerinas doing ballerina things for some reason.
We expect Marvel Studios to either get this trailer pulled ASAP, or counter by releasing the high-resolution trailer early. That second possibility doesn’t seem likely, since they already advertised the premiere on television and they probably don’t want to ruffle too many corporate feathers at Disney/ABC, but who knows? Anything is possible, like getting to see the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer almost a week early.
The closest thing Marvel has come to issuing an official statement is the following, absolutely adorable tweet:
Indeed.
