Triple J has recruited some of the biggest names in Australian and international music to help write a Hottest 100 winner.
The broadcaster’s 2014 promo ‘Can these 40 musicians write the ultimate Hottest 100 song?’ features Breakfast hosts Matt Okine and Alex Dyson in studio with a crazy collection of talent to promote the launch of voting for 2014’s No.1 track.
The likes of Lorde, Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Violent Soho, Alt-J, Gotye, Ben Folds, Hilltop Hoods and Paul Kelly make up just some of the guest appearances as the host morning hosts struggle to gain cohesion between a bunch of artists struggling to get on the same page.
The traditional 30-day voting timeframe for the 2014 Hottest 100 opened on Monday, December 15 before the results are to be broadcast across parties nationwide on Australia Day.
Bookmakers are already getting in on the Hottest 100 action, listing Chet Faker’s ‘Talk Is Cheap’ as the early favourite ahead of Peking Duk’s ‘High’ and Sia’s ‘Chandelier’.
