Police have arrested a man in pirate get-up after he allegedly pulled a flick blade on security at the set of Pirates of the Caribbean 5 on the Gold Coast before fleeing into nearby bushland.
Dressed to resemble Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow character from the $1 billion movie franchise, police released an image of the man (below) attempting to walk onto the set of the latest Pirate production in Queensland with a fake parrot on his shoulder, according to 9 News.
Police deployed sniffer dogs to track the pirate before finding him hiding in the changing room of a nearby Kmart.
There’s no word yet if the pirate was involved in Depp’s mysterious on set hand injury sustained over the weekend, which will see the movie star fly back to the US for surgery, or whether he was simply there to finish him off.
Starring Depp and former Bond villain Javier Bardem, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set for release on July 7, 2017.
