Appealing to 21st-century conceptions of normality takes a lot of work. You have to jog around artificial lakes, you have to naturally cleanse your colon, you have to support at least one absurd charity. And even then, when a Hot Girl Walks By, everything you’ve done to positively affirm your questionably meaningless existence can be thrown out the window.
