As one of the UK’s most popular musicians, Noel Gallagher is more accustomed to being interviewed than he is doing the interviewing. However, the singer/guitarist made an exception for new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, sitting down with the former Bayern Munich man in order to ask him a plethora of questions regarding his role in the Premier League club.
The interview sees the former Oasis man asking Guardiola a number of questions regarding his thoughts on City’s youth players, the club’s training academy, the Premier League and more. The manager may have also hinted that he won’t be looking to stay at Manchester City for longer than 3-4 years, with Noel asking him if he intends to “build a legacy” at the club, to which Guardiola replies: “No, I came to learn. That’s why I move on. If not I’d still be in Barcelona.”
A clearly disappointed Noel told Guardiola that Man City fans “hope you’ll get addicted to the place and the weather and stay here forever,” but Guardiola remained adamant that his career would keep moving on beyond City whenever his contract expires.
