We know almost nothing about what is coming up in the sixth season of FX’s American Horror Story. And that is by design! For the first time since the first season, AHS will not have a subtitle released before the new season begins. Nor have there been any overt hints about where it will take place and what the premise will be.
If we had to hazard a guess, we’d suggest that it might finally be time to revisit the Antichrist, half-human, half-ghost child from the end of the first season. But without Jessica Lange, it just wouldn’t be quite as fun.
For the season currently dubbed “?6,” AHS veterans Lady Gaga, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Wes Bentley, Leslie Jordan, Cheyenne Jackson, and Matt Bomer will all be back in some capacity. As per tradition for the series, they will likely portray all new characters this season. However, the show has been known to throw in a few returning characters from previous seasons, so it’s possible that some of them could reprise their past roles.
FX has released six new teaser videos for the new season, which tell us absolutely nothing about the story. But they are incredibly creepy clips, and we’d love to see the season live up to the tone that they invoke.
The sixth season of American Horror Story will premiere on September 14. So, mark that date on your calendars!
