This weekend, the third season of FX’s horror series, The Strain will arrive as humanity continues to succumb to the vampire plague gripping New York. But first, fans will have the opportunity to catch up on the second season of The Strain, when it hits Blu-ray and DVD this Tuesday, August 23.
All 13 episodes from season 2 are included on this release, which chronicles the race against time to destroy the Master as Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) attempt to find a solution through science. Meanwhile, Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) pursues his own potential solution within the pages of the mystical book known as The Occido Lumen.
In this exclusive clip from The Strain season 2’s behind-the-scenes featurette, showrunner Carlton Cuse and writer/executive producer David Weddle discuss the backstory of the Lumen and we even see the creation of the prop book for the show. Weddle also relates some of the shared history of Setrakian and Eldritch Palmer(Jonathan Hyde), the man who brought the vampires to New York.
