Next month, Lucifer returns for a second season on Fox, as the title character (who just so happens to be the devil himself) finds himself with a new mission in life…whether he likes it or not! But first, fans will have the chance to catch up with the first season of Lucifer on Blu-ray and DVD, which was released today.
Lucifer is very loosely based on the version of the character who was introduced during Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comic book series. Feeling bored with his role as lord of the damned, Lucifer abandoned Hell and retired to Earth. For the Fox TV series, Lucifer is played by Tom Ellis, and the show added a procedural element by teaming him up with Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) to solve murders in Los Angeles.
CraveOnline is exclusively premiering one of the deleted scenes from Lucifer season 1, which doesn’t feature the main character at all! Instead, the focus falls on Lucifer’s human rival, Detective Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro) and Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt), a demon who may be the closest thing to a friend that Lucifer has. Of course, Dan and Mazikeen have their own history together, and he’s not exactly happy to see her in this lost moment from episode 9.
