The Chicago Cubs are in their first World Series since the end of WW II and could capture their first title since 1908. Hooray! Now, in order to witness history you’ll have to move into your mother’s basement for awhile.
This reddit picture shows World Series tickets going as high as $9,200 a piece. But just to get into the park, asking prices for standing room only tickets are settling between $1,800 and $2,300 for Friday night’s Game 4 in Chicago, and almost a whopping $3,000 for Sunday’s potential Game 5.
In fact, Vivid Seats sent us the following information regarding World Series tickets so far:
Most expensive tickets sold:
Cleveland Indians: $4,600 (Game 1, Field Box 144) | Chicago Cubs: $15,400 (Game 4, Club Box 26)
Cheapest tickets sold:
Cleveland Indians: $325 (Game 1, Sec 504) | Chicago Cubs: $1,800 (Game 4, Standing Room Only)
Cleveland tickets are currently reasonable for a World Series game. But in order to see the Cubbies on their home turf? It’s going to cost you a ridiculous amount of lettuce.
The listings are completely out of hand. Some people are attempting to sell their tickets for as much as a brand new sports car.
And if you look at the recent World Series ticket history from Vivid Seats, you can easily see the average prices for tickets usually only goes up roughly $100 each season.
