Dark Horse Reveals Mike Mignola’s ‘Hellboy in Hell’ Library Edition

Mike Mignola’s Hellboy has been dead for years, but he didn’t let that get in the way of his final adventure! Over the course of ten issues, Mignola chronicled his iconic character’s journey through Hell as he reached the end of his long-running story. But this is far from the end for Hellboy fans, as Dark Horse Comics has big plans to give his finale the treatment it deserves.

CraveOnline is proud to exclusively announce the long-awaited Hellboy in Hell: Library Edition hardcover, which is slated to be released later this year. It will collect Hellboy in Hell: The Descent and The Death Card, plus an expanded sketchbook in the beautiful over-sized deluxe format that Dark Horse has refined for the series.

“After sacrificing himself to save the world, this epic conclusion of Hellboy’s story follows him on a journey through Hell, where he once again faces off against the Vampire of Prague, pleads his case when accused of murder, and fulfills his destiny by destroying Pandemonium itself.”

Hellboy in Hell: Library Edition is hitting comic book stores on October 4th of this year, with a bookstore release following on October 17th. The price will be $49.99.

But if you’re looking for the adventures of a younger, and less-dead Hellboy, then you’re in luck! But you’ll have to wait until January 10, 2018 for the collected edition of Hellboy and the B.P.R.D 1954. The bookstore release will follow on January 23, 2018.

Written by Mike Mignola and Chris Roberson. Illustrated by Stephen Green, Patric Reynolds, and Brian Churilla. Colors by Dave Stewart.

iZombie co-creator Chris Roberson teams with Mike Mignola and a team of artists to explore the horror and intrigue of Hellboy’s early Cold War years. No longer a rookie, Hellboy is joined by other Bureau agents in a series of far-flung mysteries that take them searching for yetis terrorizing an Arctic research team, into the American suburbs where a family is haunted by a phantom monkey, and to Hong Kong, where demons are drawn to a Chinese artifact.”

And if that’s not enough of the Mignolaverse for you, then feast your eyes on our next announcement: A new deluxe hardcover edition of B.P.R.D.: Hell on Earth, which will collect the first three volumes into a single collection.

Written by Mike Mignola and John Arcudi. Illustrated by Guy Davis, and Tyler Crook. Colors by Dave Stewart.

“The plague of frogs has ended, but earth will never be the same, and the fractured B.P.R.D. struggles to battle dangerous monsters and humans alike, from a trailer-park cult to a Russian town ravaged by a zombie-like virus. Guy Davis’s final B.P.R.D. story sets the stage for Tyler Crook’s (Harrow County) backwoods-horror debut, as Liz Sherman hides from a world that she helped push toward armageddon, and Abe Sapien is shot down by a girl who’s seen the world to come.”

This edition will retail for $34.99, and it will go on sale in bookstores January 9, 2018.
