Dave Chappelle and John Mayer Honor the Late Charlie Murphy

Dave Chappelle joined John Mayer on-stage this past Wednesday to honor the late Charlie Murphy. The actor and comedian Charlie Murphy died from leukemia at the age of 57 earlier that day. That night, Mayer performed in Columbus, Ohio, where Chappelle thrilled the crowd with a surprise appearance.

Together, the two friends whom have a musical history together, paid tribute to Murphy by performing “You’re Gonna Live Forever in Me,” which Chappelle said reminds him of Murphy.

Chappelle honored his former former Chappelle Show star best known for his Prince stories by saying “Rest in peace, Charlie Murphy. We love you. We love your comedy. We love your stories. And we love your spirit.”
