Last night, History unveiled the first part of its new documentary, Superheroes Decoded; which offered an in-depth examination of America’s unique modern mythology. Superheroes are popular all over the world, and other countries have their own. But their origins were built during the golden age of comics in the United States. And those heroes proved to be just as influential off of the page as they were in their original medium.
Tonight’s concluding part of Superheroes Decoded is taking a look at the heroes and heroines who challenged the social norms in the ’60s. And there were few who could match the impact of Wonder Woman. Although she was created in the ’40s, Wonder Woman emerged from the ’60s and ’70s as a feminist icon. But the story of her creation is still relatively unknown outside of comic book fans.
In CraveOnline’s exclusive clip from Superheroes Decoded Part 2, the history of Wonder Woman begins to unfold as the filmmakers turn the focus on to William Moulton Marston, the man who created Wonder Woman. In many ways, Marston was ahead of his time. And he was also quite…unconventional.

Superheroes Decoded Part 2 will premiere tonight, May 1 on History at 9pm.
