“The American people don’t know what’s best for them…I do. I know exactly what they need. They’re like little children…we have to hold their sticky fingers and wipe their filthy mouths, and teach them right from wrong. Tell them what to think and what to feel, and what to want.” – President Frank Underwood.
When it comes to speaking his mind, Frank Underwood rarely misses a a chance to verbally take down anyone in his path. And if Frank has to occasionally murder a political foe or three, then so be it. However, even Frank will be challenged this season on House of Cards. Netfllix’s signature drama series has left Frank in an unusually insecure position against a popular young couple: Will and Hannah Conway. Will is already the governor of New York, and if the early election polls are any indication, he’ll be the next President.
And Frank just can’t let that happen. In a new preview video from the upcoming fifth season of House of Cards, Netflix teases the lengths that Frank will go to hang on to power. And if that means exaggerating a terrorist threat and making people afraid will carry Frank for another term, then it’s a fair trade off. He’ll make America hate again, but first he’ll make them fear.
