Liam Gallagher has announced his tour dates for this year, with him promoting the upcoming release of his first solo album with a selection of four shows across the UK, the first of which will see profits directed to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
Liam will play shows in Manchester, London, Dublin and Glasgow, with his homecoming gig benefiting the charity fund that was set up in the wake of the Manchester attack last week. The fund, organised by the Manchester Council in partnership with the British Red Cross, seeks to “alleviate suffering and ensure that victims and their families do not face short-term financial difficulties.”
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News about the charity gig, he said: “I just knew I had to. I’m not in it for the money. The gig was going to happen anyway and we all have to do what we can.
“I want to try and help pick people up. People like me, doing what we do, it’s our duty to give people a good time.”
He continued: “It’s outrageous. Just so sad. What can you do? It’s just f****** out of order. There are kids and people dying all over the world. And for what?”

When discussing whether or not he will play Oasis songs “straight away or wait a bit” during the shows to NME, Liam responded: “Nah, straight away. Some at the beginning, some in the middle and some at the end.”
