I’m not a big soccer guy, but here’s something that would get me to watch on a fairly regular basis if it happened more often.
Odds are you missed an amateur soccer match in Brazil recently that was being refereed by Camilo Eustáquio de Souza because you were busy doing anything else, but that means you missed him walk back to his duffle bag and retrieve a handgun after jackass player Marcos Lopes Vieira punched him in the face.
It turns out de Souza had a solid reason for packing heat, as when he’s not busy refereeing worthless amateur soccer games, he’s protecting and serving the public as a police officer. He said he had no intention of ever firing his weapon even though Vieira had assaulted him.
“My actions were not an exaggeration; the exaggeration was down to the behavior of the player,” de Souza said. “I was in charge of the game and to bring things under control I made the decision to act in my capacity as a police officer and arrest a citizen who assaulted me.”
Turns out Vieira wasn’t so tough once he saw de Souza had a piece in his hand. In fact, he turned into a rather large pussy, as he reportedly “fled the stadium in Passos, Brazil, leaping over a fence.”
