Get ready to stick it to the man, because the hit musical based on the Richard Linklater film School Of Rock is set to make its Australian debut later this year.
The Andrew Lloyd Webber adaptation of the 2003 Jack Black comedy is coming to Melbourne from October 2018, after first servicing society on Broadway back in 2015.
School Of Rock: The Musical, which follows rocker bro Dewey Finn as he teaches kids to rock while pretending to be a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school, features all of the original songs from the film, as well as a new score from Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics from three-time Tony Award nominee Glenn Slater.
The musical will begin previews at Melbourne’s Her Majesty’s Theatre from Wednesday, 31st October, and the waitlist for tickets is already open.
Organisers are also on the hunt for the most rockin’ kids in the country to star in the musical, with auditions starting soon. To register for the ticket waitlist or for an audition, head to the musical’s official website or peep the details below.
