8 Alternative Oscar Hosts That Would Make the Academy Piss Their Pants, And We’d Gladly Tune in to See

With Oscar season on the horizon, Hollywood begins the unnecessary buildup to the Academy Awards. The industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony has gone through many groundbreaking changes throughout the past year. Most notably, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) decided to do away with the perfunctory need for a traditional host. After three years of varying success, the academy is once again returning to the well.

A recent story by The Hollywood Reporter suggested that the AMPAS has reached out to none other than Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, to host this year’s ceremony. This is merely a rumor at this point, but it does confirm that the broadcast is looking to return to a more traditional format this year. Many years ago, the Oscars hosting gig used to be one of the most coveted in the business. But now, it seems more like a burden than anything else.

The search for the 2022 Oscars host is officially underway, so naturally, everybody on the internet (including ourselves) has an opinion on who would be a good fit for the gig. With that in mind, we decided to put a handy list together of alternate hosts that would make the Academy piss their pants, and most likely improve TV ratings in the process.
