As the ritual of binge-watching would dictate, most (if not everyone) has seen the first 7 episodes of Ozark Season 4 since they dropped on Netflix on January 21st. Season 3 ended with a bang (as in a bullet through Helen’s head) and season 4 began with a crash. Reminiscent of Breaking Bad’s final season, Ozark’s opening flash-forward confirmed the Brydes (mostly) survive the events of season 4 before heading to Chicago and flipping their mini-van into a ditch, leaving the fate of Marty, Wendy, Charlotte, and Jonah unknown.
The events preceding this crash had everyone grabbing seat belts in the comfort of their own homes. Now, Omar Navarro is in jail and his nephew, Javi, rules the cartel as the FBI’s new “BFF.” Unfortunately for the Brydes, Javi is overly confident in that Bachelor’s degree and just offed Ruth’s cousin, Wyatt, and his effervescent bride, Darlene. With Ruth once again weaponizing the C-word and Mel Sattem private-investigating the fuck out of everything, there’s no telling what will happen next. Except there is. We’re here to make eight mandatory predictions for Ozark season 4 part 2, which is scheduled to arrive sometime later this year.

Ozark Season 4 Part 2

Javi is done for.
Season 4’s main antagonist has been Javi Elizonndro, the cousin of the head of the Navarro cartel, Omar. Javi has had it out for both the Brydes and his uncle this season and, now that he’s exactly where he wants to be, it’s time for him to go. Part 1’s final episode saw him put an end to the iconic Darlene Snell, killing Wyatt Langmore in the process. Now, Ruth will stop at nothing to avenge her cousin's death. If Camino Del Rio Aka “Del” can’t survive Ozark, Javi won’t survive Ruth let alone the Byrdes.

Omar's sister will take over the cartel.
In the second half of season 4, Veronica Falcón (see above) is set to appear as Camila, the sister of Omar Navarro and mother of Javi. In what is sure to be a display comparable to Sons of Anarchy’s Gemma Teller, Camila is poised to be Ozark’s master manipulator, neutering her family members and rising to the top of the cartel. If anyone sits on the throne come the series' end, it’ll be her.

Wendy can go at this point.
Ever since she had her brother whacked, Wendy has been slipping and mistakes will almost certainly get you killed. With everyone and their living brothers looking for Ben thanks to Wendy’s big mouth, which she calls “good PR,” if the Byrde matriarch doesn’t go down for her involvement in his disappearance (or Helen’s), she’ll end up six feet under courtesy of Ruth. Given the unrivaled contention between the Langmore and Byrde matriarchs, it only makes sense for the former to take out the latter.

Sam will get the Lazy-O Motel.
Sam Dermody has gotten the short end of the stick in Ozark. Despite being clueless about the inner workings of the Byrde machine, he continues to suffer due to his association with them. Now, he works at Ruth’s newly-acquired motel. If he can kick that gambling addiction, maybe when it’s all said and done, the good guy can end up with a prize.

Charlotte will die in the car crash.
As previously mentioned, the first scene of season 4 sees the entire Byrde family moving back to Chicago. The Blue Cat, casino, and cartel are supposedly all in good shape...but then their mini-van crashes. While we never see what happens to Marty, Wendy, Charlotte, and Jonah, we likely will partway through Part 2.
All of the characters with ongoing and/or interesting storylines are safe from the most anti-climatic fate ever. That being said, someone needs to die in this crash (otherwise, what’s the point) and all signs point to Charlotte. Why? She the Byrde bystander—the character with the least amount of agency at this point in the series. Her death will have a greater impact on the other characters (especially Jonah) than anything else she’s set up to do.

Marty and Jonah will walk away.
Typically crime sagas end with the main character either dying or receiving a sentence equal to the severity of their crimes. However, of all though characters, Jason Bateman’s Marty Byrde may just be the smartest. Irrespective of stress, he has managed to stay calm, calculated, and find a rational (debatable...) solution to every problem—one that puts his family first. In season 4 he’s at his sharpest and most daring. If anyone can figure deal with the FBI, cartel, and a private investigator, it’s him. Also Jonah...

Or just Jonah.
Yes, we hate him too, but he’s just a kid and he’s also right. As in morally (as annoying as that may be). Following the death of his uncle Ben, Jonah doesn’t want his family’s wrongdoings to continue. Suffice to say, telling Ruth it was Javi who probably offed Darlene and Wyatt won’t be the last piece of compromising information he lets slip. We wouldn’t be surprised if Jonah rats his entire family out to any form of law enforcement.

Ruth and Zeke will ride off into the sunset.
But really she’ll get framed for Darlene and Wyatt’s murders as Zeke is taken in by social services. Ruth wants to kill Javi and that’s not something Marty and Wendy can allow as long as the cartel is involved with the FBI—either they kill her or find another way to get rid of her. Given Marty and Ruth’s weird father/daughter relationship, it seems likely Marty will point the police in her direction as his way of protecting her.
