Here’s When Voting Starts in Every State: Polling Station Open and Close Hours

Election Day is approaching, so you’ll want to know when voting opens. Unfortunately, that’s not a simple question because polling station times vary widely across the country. We’ll help you find your local polling stations’ operating times and locations below.

When does voting begin at my polling station?

There’s not a universal time for voting in the presidential election to begin. You’ll find that poll station operating hours vary wildly, even within the same district. Many open between 6-8 a.m. local time, but you’ll want to double-check. Additionally, you should be aware of alternate polling locations in case of issues at your primary choice.

Each state hosts its own polling information website. To find out what time voting opens, visit the site for your state below and enter your home address.

Below are the times when you can expect most polling stations to open and close by states. However, we must reiterate to check the operating hours and status of your location of choice before visiting.
