Happy Gilmore 2 Gets Release Date Window & Could Have an Eminem Cameo

The first Happy Gilmore movie came out in 1996 and was a big commercial success. While fans have speculated on the prospects of a sequel over the years, it wasn’t until recently that the project started to take shape. And now, Adam Sandler, who portrays the eponymous failed hockey player turned professional golfer, has revealed not only the potential release date window for Happy Gilmore 2 but also the fact that rap megastar Eminem will make a cameo appearance in the movie.

Adam Sandler reveals Happy Gilmore 2’s July 2025 release date window

Happy Gilmore 2 wrapped production last week.

On that very day, Adam Sandler spoke to Dan Patrick over the phone on the latter’s sports radio show. The Uncut Gems star offered July 2025 as a tentative Netflix release date for the sequel. Notably, Sandler was responding to Patrick’s speculations on whether the movie could debut on the Fourth of July weekend.

“Not July 4th, but we’re trying to get it done in time for July,” Sandler clarified.

Apart from the estimated release date, Adam Sandler also confirmed that Eminem would make a cameo appearance in Happy Gilmore 2. During the call-in, Dan Patrick asked if they could talk about the cameos in the movie. “They’re going to yell at me no matter what because they asked me to not do any press,” Sandler responded. “But what do you want to say, and I’ll tell you if it’s good or bad to talk about.”

Patrick then enquired if he could talk about Eminem having a cameo in the movie. “Okay, yes, you can,” Sandler said but later added that he wouldn’t say about what role the “Not Afraid” singer played in the movie.

“I know Eminem for a long time, and he’s a great guy,” Sandler continued. “He came in and was funny as hell. I think we hung out a day with Eminem and we just shot and shot and it was insane. Said a million things we can use and a million things we’re glad we have on tape.”

It was also confirmed during the call-in that golf legend Jack Nicklaus and even Dan Patrick would appear in the movie.
