What has been your favorite game of the generation? Still thinking? It’s a question that for many requires a lot of thought, especially given the length of the generation—thank goodness it’s finally ending. It’s also one that Amazon didn’t mind asking gamers earlier in the week. Now it has a winner.
After a four-day clash of the generation’s finest, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has won Amazon.UK’s Game of the Generation award. Sitting at a 96% on Metacritic with dozens of Game of the Year awards, it wasn’t a particularly surprising choice. But it didn’t win easily as there was heavy competition along the way, namely from The Last of Us, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Red Dead Redemption. Truthfully, any of the four could win and be justified.
When Skyrim released in 2011 it took gamers and pop culture by storm. Many remember it for how difficult it was to turn off due to its endless barrage of quests, while others continue to play it because of its healthy modding community. Who doesn’t want to see a nude Khajiit or breed dragons with Macho Man?
So what do you think of this choice? Do you agree with the majority of participants, or do you have a different favorite?
