In response to a user on Twitter, Ubisoft creative director Jonathan Morin confirmed that Watch Dogs has more than just two-player multiplayer. He said yes when asked the following:
Is it true there will be multiplayer open world freeroam (8 players)?
Previously, only a two-player multiplayer experience was confirmed. The two-player option should still be included in the package.
It seems that the additional development time has afforded Ubisoft the ability to develop a multiplayer with a much larger scope. The question is whether or not there’s been enough time to polish it. Grand Theft Auto V‘s free-roam had a lot of potential that was squandered by severe issues during launch month.
