After over a year of being in beta, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft has been released. It’s the first of three Blizzard Entertainment releases in 2014, and a rather big one.
Hearthstone is a digital collectible card game with a Warcraft theme. Similar to other CCGs, you collect cards and battle other players one-on-one. Its presentation and mechanics are familiar for those who enjoy games like World of Warcraft or Warcraft 3. Audio clips from previous titles can be heard after commands, and each of the several hundred cards have some place in the Warcraft universe.
It’s accumulated a huge fanbase since it entered beta in 2013, partially due to its free-to-play nature. I can personally attest to its high quality and addictive nature after spending over a hundred hours in the beta. This is a game that can get completely immersed in. Made better, big patches are planned to bring highly-requested features and more cards to the game over time.

Currently, Hearthstone is exclusive to PC. However, iOS and Android versions will become available later in the year.
You can download the game for free on the official Hearthstone website.
