Hearthstone is getting its first major post-release content patch in the form of Curse of Naxxramas. The package will deliver 30 new cards to the current card pool, all of which are themed under the necropolis motif with plague-infested creatures, undead soldiers, and gross insects and anthropods. Equipped with these new obtainable cards, players will be able to progress through Naxxramas, facing menacing foes on new game board. Similar to World of Warcraft‘s dungeon progression design, a new wing will be opened each week until the entire dungeon is accessible.
Once you’ve completed Naxxramas, which will be no simple feat, you can engage in nine Class Challenges. As with the successful defeat of Naxxramas bosses, you’ll be rewarded gold and new cards for achieving victory.
Although Curse of Naxxramas‘ greatest addition is a thoughtful single-player component, the addition of new cards and a new game board will inject some life into the thriving multiplayer environment.
Hearthstone Curse of Naxxramas doesn’t currently have a release date, but will hit PC, Max, and iPad simultaneously at no cost.
